I am an assistant professor (profesora ayudante doctor) at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M).
I have a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Maryland, where I worked mainly with Peter Carruthers and Lindley Darden. My research addresses questions about types and kinds in the cognitive sciences, a topic that intersects with ongoing interests in philosophy of mind and biology (specially mechanistic explanation).
In addition to research and teaching, I enjoy bridging the gap between academic philosophy and its applications to the public domain. Between 2021-2023, I served as a member of the medical ethics committee at the Capital Region Medical Center in Maryland. Besides helping educate medical students and doctors about biomedical ethics, we did consulting on various ethical conflicts in the hospital.
I am a Fulbright and a "La Caixa" alumna, with an MA from the University of British Columbia. Previously I had a postdoctoral position (APOSTD - Generalitat Valenciana) at VLC Philosophy Lab, at the Universitat de València. Before that, I adjuncted (prof. substituta) at the University of Barcelona, where I also was a senior Logos member.

Here are some pictures of the event, which took place on April 14th 2025.
